“Spatiu intre – in Between” Solo exhibition of stainless-steel sculptures and lithographs by Gabriela von Habsburg

“Steel is a natural product, it is the blood of the mountains”, Archduchess Gabriela von Habsburg described her perception. And really, the way the artist is treating the surface, polishing, brushing, letting seems from forging and include them into the artwork, this all makes the sculptures look organic. “Steel is my favourite material, I can work precise” the artist continues and describes, how she let steel look like flowers.

Habsburg says: “The space in Between gives meaning and character to the sculpture. The absence of material, underlines the forms, which are more important than color. For me, the space in Between a sculpture has a similar meaning then a pause in music or a paragraph in reading and writing, it gives another meaning”.
